Kathleen Burgess is a mixed-media artist from Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and an A.S. in Design and Digital Marketing from Northwest Florida State College. Her surreal, nature-inspired artwork reflects her exploration of different media over the past ten years. Initially self-taught, she later found a mentor who guided her in mastering the basics of art and discovering her identity as an artist. Kathleen has earned 1st and 2nd place awards in the Brevard District Art Competition and has exhibited her work, including print art, slotted wood sculpture, and oil paintings, at the Semi-Annual Pop-Up Exhibit hosted by TAG Gallery. Her current focus is on photography, graphic design, painting, mixed media, and drawing.

My work delves into nature and the unseen, reflecting my deep connection to the outdoors. Through a variety of mediums including drawing, mixed media, graphic design, painting, and photography, I create surreal environments that blur the lines between reality and fiction. I use cool colors and dried plants to evoke a sense of calm and fantasy. My materials are diverse, drawn from whatever I can utilize to bring my vision to life, including acrylic paint, polymer clay, epoxy, and more. I work intuitively, focusing on creating depth and a sense of familiarity in my pieces, aiming to engage and resonate with viewers.
